We all want to become happy, don't we? However, many of us don't know how to do it. It is also true that society and human nature push us to compare ourselves to others. From this can arise jealousy and therefore a belief: that others are luckier! Some may even say to themselves: "I'd be so much happier if...".
How can you be more fulfilled, feel good about yourself and have a happy life? To help you see more clearly, I share with you here 6 essential keys.
Key N°1 - Appreciate the simple things
You are in good health, you have a roof over your head, you can talk, hear, see, run, walk? To be happy, you must also know how to appreciate the essential things in life, the things you already have.
Every day, life offers us many gifts and it is very important to know how to appreciate them. So, if jealousy comes up, if you are envious of so-and-so, take the time to look and think about what you already have. And then be thankful for it all. You know, many studies have been conducted on this subject and they highlight that gratitude is an excellent exercise to be more fulfilled every day.
Remember that if you're not happy with what you have now, you won't be happy with what you have later.
Key N°2 - Getting out of your comfort zone
I love this moment of relaxation after having surpassed myself. Why am I telling you this? Because too many people confuse happiness with pleasure. They are always looking for comfort. In fact, they are often the ones who complain about not having enough money, not having the body shape they deserve, etc. If you are among this category of people, you must understand that happiness is hidden behind fear, pain and effort.
Most people spend their time in front of Netflix hoping that things will change. Frankly, do you really think they will find happiness this way? It doesn't happen that way! It's just by getting out of your comfort zone that you'll get your hands on it. Pay the price now, otherwise you won't be able to pay it later.
Key N°3 - Surrounding yourself with positive and caring people
You probably know someone around you who is negative, who never stops complaining and criticizing. It could be a family member, a friend or a co-worker.
With this type of toxic person, no matter how much you decide to stay positive, it will cause you to deviate from your path at some point. It was Jim Rohn who said, "We're the average of the five people we see the most." That's so true, so be sure to surround yourself with people who are caring, who are pulling you up and not trying to put you down all the time.
Key N°4 - Become aware that you are the only master of your own happiness
Maybe you always expect things from others. If this is the way you operate, I prefer to be honest with you: it will be very difficult for you to achieve happiness. Of course, you can still be happy, especially when your expectations are met, but only intermittently. Remember that you are the only actor in your life and therefore, in your happiness: "Our dreams and projects belong to us, so happiness belongs to us".
Key N°5 - Finding your way to take life in both hands
Many people embark on a project that they don't really care about. Why do they do it? There are many reasons:
Fear of the judgment of others;
To earn money more easily;
To follow what society dictate to us ...
Adopting this lifestyle means taking giant steps away from happiness. What do you want to do with your life? What is it that excites you, that you are passionate about? It is precisely by embarking on projects that make sense to you, that you will feel proud and therefore, happier.
Of course, you will always face hurdles to overcome, but by pursuing your path, you will be able to face them with more serenity, because you will know why you are doing it.
Key N°6 - Train yourself daily to be more positive and more happy
This joins the N°1 key which consists in cultivating gratitude. The more you begin to feel joy in your daily life, to rejoice in the things you already have, the easier it will be for you to be happy and in a good mood. As you do so, happiness will become a staple part of your life, of who you really are.
In fact, you need to think of happiness as a muscle and work out every day. For example, it can be by trying to find the positive in every situation, to keep confidence even in difficult situations. Of course, this is not done in a finger snap. But by facing challenging and complex situations, you will be able to face them more serenely and stay in peace with yourself.
