Practice creative procrastination

Updated: Oct 25, 2020

Creative procrastination is one of the most effective of all personal performance techniques. It can change everyone's life.

The fact is that we cannot do everything that we have to do. We should procrastinate on something. Therefore, put off eating smaller or less ugly frogs and start eating the biggest and ugliest frogs before anything else. Do the worst first!

Everyone procrastinates. What makes huge difference between people on the long-run is what they choose to procrastinate on. The sad fact is that most people put off unconsciously high-value activities and prioritize low-value tasks.

Rule : You can get your time and your life under control only to the degree to which you discontinue lower-value activities.

Here's a way of applying creative procrastination:

1 - Identify time-consuming activities that you can abandon with no real loss.

2 - Learn to say "No" to low-value tasks which seldom can yield you results in your work.

3 - Select at least one activity to abandon immediately or at least deliberately put off until your more important goals have been achieved.
